The Montana Petroleum Association, Inc. is an expanding non-profit, voluntary trade association, made up of more than 150 diverse members; including upstream, midstream, and downstream companies.

MPA works with local and statewide officials to advocate for an environment in which the oil and gas industry can benefit the state’s economy. It is our goal to defend the necessary work of this job creating industry against rules and regulations which inhibit our ability to be successful.

MPA strives to positively shape public opinion through education and outreach, and believes in being a generous community partner and good neighbor.

Life in Montana takes energy. Our member companies and individuals work tirelessly to ensure energy gets to people in a safe, affordable, reliable and responsible manner. People who work in the field, at our refineries or who transport the product to market are Montanans through and through. That means we value our outdoor heritage and our wide-open spaces.

Because of that, MPA member companies are working to ensure everyone in the state and region continues to have an abundant and affordable supply of energy while living in an environment we can all call home. Our companies are actively addressing sustainability and climate issues and recognize the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The oil and gas industry is critical to our state and it has the strategic capabilities, resources and innovation needed to responsibly solve the world’s energy supply needs – now and into a lower-carbon future.

Our member companies remain proud of our role in Montana’s diverse and strong economy. We can continue to produce the energy that our country needs while also keeping Montana the “Last Best Place.”
